PA Bear, As I said in my first post, WLM says it is a "Windows Live" problem
and they were transfering me to them. Below is the last email from them:
Hello Kevon,
Thank you for writing back to Windows Live Mail Technical Support. My name
is Glenn and I gather that you are still encountering a 0x80048823 error
message when accessing your account through Windows Live Mail after going
through the account reconfiguration steps we have provided. I also noted that
you are unable to sign in to the account through the Web and that you are
unable to reset your password as the password is being sent to an
inaccessible account. Please accept our apologies for the issue you are
encountering and for any inconvenience this may have caused. I understand the
importance of having this addressed immediately and I will direct you to the
department that can assist you best.
Kevon, I have determined that your issue is related to Windows Live ID. We
would like to point you to the right direction since it is our goal to
provide technical support quickly and accurately to our members. The best
department to assist you with your concern would be the Windows Live
Technical Support Team. For your convenience, I have transferred your e-mail
to the correct department and they should contact you within 24 hours.
Glenn

Post by BeeI'm having the same problem and the same experience -- I'm locked out of my
account, no alternate addy and no way to answer the secret info -- either
the hacker changed the info, or I forgot what I put in because this is
such an old account.
If I fill out the Windows Live ID form, the auto responder tells me to
contact Hotmail support via their form. If I fill out THAT form, the auto
responder tells me to go fill out a Live ID form. I wish that MSN would
sort out this auto responder loop so at least my question goes to the
right place. I'm really hoping somewhere along the line a person reads
