Discussion:
Email restrictions to 10 recipients

I would like to be able to send an email to more than 10 recipients! I use
this account for work and I cannot remove addressees from group emails. I
have been a hotmail user for many many years and have never sent out junk
emails, why have I suddenly been restricted to only 10 recipients when
sending emails and how (without paying for membership) do I get the
restriction lifted?

Hotmail works on a reputation system (which only they know how it is
defined). Perhaps it is time to change the password to your Hotmail
account to ensure someone else isn't abusing your account. Or perhaps
look at the volume of e-mails you send through a *personal* e-mail
account since bulk mailing, even 10 recipients at a time, can result in
a lot of traffic spewing out of a Hotmail account.

Otherwise, you're stuck like all the other Hotmail users starting at the
support.live.com site and navigating through their web help pages trying
to find contacts (which, I believe, the pages may lead you to a web form
to submit help).

From Hotmail Help two topics are available.

1.
<qp>
You’ve reached your message limit
When you try to send an e-mail message, you may receive an error message that states that you’ve reached the limit for the number
of messages that you can send in a 24-hour period.
If you receive this error message, save your e-mail message, wait for 12 to 24 hours, and then try to send your message again.

To help reduce the amount of junk e-mail sent from Windows Live Hotmail accounts, we limit the number of e-mail messages that you
can send per day. As you develop a reputation for not sending junk e-mail, we increase the number of e-mail messages that you can
send per day.
</qp>

2.
<qp>
You're prompted to remove recipients before you can send a message
When you try to send an e-mail message to multiple recipients, you may receive an error message that states that you must remove
some recipients before you can send your message. You may also receive this error message if you’ve sent several messages to many
different recipients in the same day.

If you receive this error message, reduce the number of recipients to the number that is indicated in the error message, and then
try to send your message again.

To help reduce the amount of junk e-mail (Unwanted, unsolicited, or illicit e-mail or other electronic messages, including spam.)
sent from Windows Live Hotmail accounts, we limit the number of recipients that you can send a message to at one time. As you
develop a reputation for not sending junk e-mail, we increase the number of recipients that you can send messages to.
</qp>

If not a new user or not having sent a large number of messages and the issue continues, contact Hotmail Support in the web based
forum.
